We use it to control the lights in our pantry cabinet. Unfortunately, my kids don't always close the door all the way to prevent the sensor from resetting. I would be happier if the transmitter was more sensitive to a larger gap. Closing the magnetic switch doesn't actually turn off the light. Opening the switch starts a 15 minute timer after which the light will turn off automatically. While I like the auto shut-off (mainly because of the child issue mentioned above), I would like the light to go off when you close the door. It's annoyingly wasteful to leave the light on when no one is using it. Finally, you'll probably want to put a sticker on the bright blue LED on the base unit. The light on the device that we received is bright enough to blind you when you look at it directly.
