As others have said, this is more than just a beginner's book. I'm a self-taught seamstress - sewed a lot over 20 years ago and am getting back to it after a break of a few years. I received the book yesterday and am very excited. There are many things I never learned and many techniques presented in a simple way with specific instructions. There are photos showing the finished product for each technique so you can decide what works best for your project. The last section contains some pretty attractive and useful patterns. My only criticism is that the fabrics used in some examples sometimes have a dense pattern that doesn't show the details of the technique that well, how I would like it to be. , and on some color pages the print should be darker and clearer. In general a very simple, not intimidating and useful book that will become a guide for me. Beautiful patterns are a great bonus!
