Review on 🍳 Trangia 25 Series: Aluminum Camping Kitchen Set with Alcohol Stove – Ultimate Outdoor Cooking Gear by Mike Sutherland

In line with the minimalist ethic

This little kit is ideal for minimalism, lightness and speed in terms of backpacking/climbing gear. I usually avoid "system" cook sets because they often come with unnecessary extras and I like to make my own choices. However, this is the first "system" that makes sense to me. A small spirit lamp would be useless without a windscreen, but the device works excellently with it. You're in no hurry with him. As a climber since the 1960's I have a lot of experience with kilns. My old Svea 105 still works great but runs on kerosene with preheated alcohol. The later Expedition MSR furnace still needs preheating from its white gas tank. Both have pumps (preferably in height) and therefore require maintenance and parts replacement. Both make calm mountains sound like the cockpit of an aircraft carrier. There had to be something else, and that is the kit. But I still wouldn't use it in a mountaineering base camp. I like compactness and simplicity. Buying by the liter eliminates the need to buy a fuel tank. The can works perfectly. The main application is boiling water. Now it's adventurous trips and romantic picnics. You don't have to lift the lid to check the cooking, you can actually hear it! One caveat: aluminum pans are excellent conductors of heat. It's good for heating. BUT, when removed from the flame, the conductivity quickly changes the other way, even on a mild 50 degree day. So don't expect to take the pot off the stove after the first cup of coffee and later drink your second cup in peace. it will be cold So think ahead. This is a worthwhile purchase that's more suited to a quiet, leisurely pace.
