I would give a 3.5 if it was possible (that took me from a 3 to a 4). They're fine, but they certainly don't look real. If you just want a glowing effect, they will do. You have to turn them off when not in use as they drain the batteries VERY quickly (I made the mistake of leaving mine on and they all died within a week). If you're using them in combination with other candles, or for a display that people don't look too closely at (especially if it's just for specific events and not the entire holiday season), I'd recommend them. They are very light, which to be honest can be both a plus and a minus depending on your preferences (windy place? weak hands? you get the idea). I think a little extra weight might keep them in place better if you're using them in high traffic areas. Overall: They work and look exactly like the pictures.
