Easy to use, difficult to align Big projects

I used this to transfer vinyl decals to our mailbox and it worked great. It was tacky enough to pull the vinyl off the backing (very few letters needed coaxing to peel off), but still left a letter on the mailbox if ripped off at a sharp angle. Both lettering and letterbox were glossy, so I can't comment on performance with matte surfaces. I had no problems and it worked great - it was much easier to align than the opaque transfer tape I used (looks like a roll of white masking tape). However, despite my best efforts, I couldn't align the red lines very well with my captions, so the lines didn't help much. Last time I made a smaller decal (about 3" x 2") and it was a lot easier to line up the red guides for this cutout. this smaller sticker 2 or 3 times before I was done) - but for the side of my mailbox I wrinkled/crumpled it too much when removing the transfer tape so it wasn't in good condition to be reused. It might have been my method (or lack thereof), but I wouldn't plan on reusing it after big moves just because it's difficult to keep flat and smooth. In general I like it. After that I will never go back to my old opaque film. Being able to see through when applying the vinyl makes everything so much easier.

Pros
  • EASY TO CUT AND CARRY
Cons
  • Big and bulky
