Company ignores SpinScrub issues

The initial reaction when I first got this carpet cleaner was pretty good. When I opened the box, all I had to do was assemble one pen and it was ready to go. Most of the 5 star reviews cover most of its workings. I will emphasize what you may not have experienced. The SpinScrub brushes rotate using a turbine mechanism. This turbine has cheap parts and will rust as soon as it comes in contact with water, which can happen right after the first wash. This problem has been reported frequently on other Hoover models and yet the ignorant Hoover engineering team cannot change the design or parts and continues to use non-stainless steel and cheap parts that stop working immediately on contact. with water and rust. Check out the following link to a Revain Q&A where a user asked a question after their device stopped working: https://www.amazon.com/Brushes-not-spinning-something-internally/forum/Fx23UOVL4I8KXTK /Tx26GM4WHEYHZHV/ 1 ?asin=B00009R66F When I encountered this problem while preparing to use the unit, I searched online and watched numerous videos on how to repair the turbine mechanism on a Hoover carpet vacuum. It's only been a year and I've used it twice. I'm very good at fixing things. So I figured I'd give it a try before calling Hoover with a warranty claim. However, in my case it doesn't fix it as the shaft is completely rusted and seized between the two bearings. The bearings are also rusty, tried WD-40 and tried to move the part but it won't move. I've sent a message to Hoover support now, we'll see how quickly they can fix this. I will come back and update the review accordingly. ----- May 4th update ----- My machine was still under warranty. I emailed Hoover support but they refused to ship the faulty part and referred me to their authorized service center instead. I tried to convince her that driving about 11 miles to get the car was a waste of my time because of a problem I had already diagnosed. They refused and repeated taking it to an authorized service center. I took the car to a service center last week. The service center staff were very receptive and told me it was a common problem but good for their business. Guaranteed or not, you still get paid. Last Saturday I got a call from the service center and they said they replaced the part under warranty. I just have to get it now. ----- May 6th Update ----- I picked up the car today and it has a new turbine spinning the SpinScrub brushes. This repair was done under warranty but I'm afraid the warranty is about to expire. So I asked the service engineer what my options are if (not if) this happens again. He told me the part costs about $30 and the fee to replace the part is $20. So I expect $50 each time this part needs to be replaced as the company will NOT ship the part directly to the consumer even if they can do the repair themselves. An additional fact to consider before choosing this air purifier.
