"Static Dissipative" involves a high but not infinite surface resistance. I measure this mat with an infinite resistance at a millimeter between measurement points (where I pinned the probes). Did a test of ESD 4.1 and it failed with infinity ohms per square. Also, the resistance of the bracelet cable between the snap button and the banana clip is infinity (should be practically zero). This is junk. If you haven't gambled your equipment on this mat yet, you should buy a lottery ticket. I would like to know *exactly* what Mil Stds. this is "passed". I can only call this fraudulent advertising. Others who say "it does what it's supposed to" haven't actually tested it and have no basis for saying it does anything at all. I recommend the following instead: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product /B00O0Q1Z1I/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s01?I bought this first, then my recommended item above. It passed tests.
