I'm sensitive to chemicals and mold. Too new furniture can annoy me (not evaporated), too old furniture (musty smell or mold). That's why I pay special attention to what's left in my house. As a mother, I also want the best for my child. I don't want her playroom filled with chemicals, even if I'm not sensitive to them. I have had NO negative reaction to this table. Since I didn't use any chemistry, I was even able to assemble it myself. Not only a wonderful company ("We create our products to inspire our children's imagination and creativity", "Green Workshop"), but also great products (made from recycled wood, handmade, hand-painted, non-toxic and lead-free paint , my table meets California Formaldehyde Standard 93210), but this table is BEAUTIFUL. Because of the colour, this table would look great in a small girls or boys room. It came just in time for my little one to get started on the alphabet. She gives this table 5 stars. I am looking for reduced items. This table is the best product I have received so far. This is actually the best product I have ever bought for my child and I am picky! If I had known how beautiful it is I would have bought it at full price.
