I use them to light up my "locked cupboard". The panels (when used on a non-magnetic surface) are bright enough to light up my entire office, although placement is subjective and adjustable. I feel like I've used them many times in a renovation, but I can't explain the actual battery life. check, although I only charged them once upon receipt. They contained batteries. I waited a bit to see if I would see any sag due to room vibration or other early failures, but they work well. a motion sensor (in case of 'prying' eyes) but I wanted to be able to pick up and go with less effort and they serve that purpose, although sometimes the light 'leaks' the signal. I partially blame the metal box they are in for the signal blockage as I installed them in exposed areas in the front so line of sight is not available. This allows them to be moved for better response, but I like having a more indirect effect on my defensive tools.
