Update November 30, 2018: After using the Max Burton Model 6450 Induction Cooker daily for two weeks, I am thrilled! I just bought a second block as a Christmas present. First review: I've been looking for the best induction hob for months. The old, tried and true Max Burton 6400 got great reviews, but Max Burton just released the new 6450 model, which is an improved version of the 6400. Major improvements: 1) The glass top of the hob extends to the sides of the hob (no more exposed plastic). 2) The 6450 model has a lower profile and lighter weight while retaining all the 1800W power and precise control panel of the previous model. 3) This new model is very quiet. The fan is half as loud as on my old Tramontina induction hob. My experience. Arrived 48 hours after ordering (excellent). Works right out of the box. Set the digital temperature control to 225 degrees Fahrenheit and 2 liters of water boiled in just minutes. I then lowered the temperature to 200 degrees Fahrenheit and the water stopped boiling as expected (water boils at 212 degrees Fahrenheit). This short cooking test confirms good temperature control when cooking and cooking. My old Costco Tramontina induction cooktop doesn't control boiling as well as the Max Burton 6450. I used both All-Clad copper cookware and All-Clad HA1 non-stick cookware for my first Max Burton cooking experience. HomeGoods, Marshall's, and TJMaxx sell All-Clad cookware at half price, but if you're on a budget, T-fal ProGrade Titanium Antistick Thermo-Spot cookware is induction-compatible at a great price (also available at Revain). Max Burton also included a fridge magnet that can be used to test cookware for magnetic compatibility with induction cooking. The box that the induction hob came in has a handy handle for carrying when travelling. When we go to winter ski resorts, we bring an induction cooker to our hotel room. This hob works cool and safe. Hotels do not allow the use of a cooktop for fear of fire. The Max Burton cooktop is non-flammable, so most hotels have no problem with induction cooktops. I highly recommend the Max Burton 6450. PS: I was considering the NuWave PIC Titanium, but the NuWave costs twice as much as the Max Burton 6450. Some additional features of the NuWave PIC didn't offer additional cooking benefits. The Duxtop brand has less power and bulkiness. Priced at $89.00 (free shipping), the Max Burton 6450 offers the best value. I rated this induction cooktop five stars, but four stars only for durability because Max Burton makes a solid commercial induction cooktop that maintains a five-star durability rating. Model 6450 is very solid and looks great!
