If you buy them thinking they are cooler (temperature) than boots, they are not. The fit is long, I'm a size 13 wide and ordered a 13 and I have a feeling my toes could grow an inch and I would still fit in these boots. The width is a bit tight, but as I said, I usually wear a size 13 and this is only a size 13. Not a summer shoe, as I expected. Hope that helps. >UPDATE> I've been wearing these shoes all summer and they ripped a bit, but now that the temperatures are cooler outside, especially at night, these shoes are generally much more comfortable for cooler weather. I am happy with my purchase and still get 3 stars
