I bought this because my mom is slowly losing her hearing and keeps yelling at me from across the apartment for one reason or another. I feel very much about her. So it's listed as a baby walkie-talkie. NO. EASY #1: They have MANY buttons that even a child can figure out. As I said, for a child's toy it should only have three buttons. Channel button, volume button and talk button. #2 These walkie-talkies are INCREDIBLY LOUD, like SO LOUD. Whenever you finish speaking, the beep will become FUNNY LOUD. Even at minimum volume I had to tape the speaker with clear tape about 4 times! #3 The headphone jack is TOO SMALL to accommodate standard headphones. So in summary it's definitely not suitable for children in general, or if you're trying to be quiet on the walkie-talkie, as the volume of everything is ridiculously loud even on the lowest setting. Overall 3 stars I think. Hope this helps a little!
