I ordered this as a large handy storage box with a lid to hold a large set of styrofoam building blocks that I got for my granddaughter and the tub that came with them didn't all fit back so I had blocks lying around. It works perfectly! My 3.5 year old granddaughter opens and closes easily and is not afraid of breaking or pinching her finger one day! It's big enough that I can get another set of blocks if and when she's actually busy building blocks. The sides are low enough for her to kneel and reach for anything. I moved it a bit farther from the wall so the lid can flip up and rest against the wall when you open it, otherwise it keeps closing and it's frustrating. It's a bit soft and I had to be careful and make sure she wasn't sitting on it and of course that was one of the first things she wanted to do. It will last a few minutes, but it will flex and then cause the box to warp over time, which I don't want. So she's doing a great job of not trying to sit on him anymore. It has enough space for other toys or other things to store, I just like to keep the building blocks separate and it also makes it very quick to pick them all up and toss them back into the storage box and close the lid. I like lids as they keep dirt and dust off things when not in use and they wipe or vacuum very quickly.
