Review on πŸ“± BEANTECH Full Function Smartwatch for Apple/Android Devices - Elegant Communication, Fitness, Music & Camera Control. Silver with Black Calfskin Leather Strap by Jere Mosley

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Functionality is limited and notification settings cannot be changed from the phone. Very tall and fat.

I really, really want to like this watch. but I unfortunately not enough to want to use it daily. In general, the watch is massive. even bigger than it looks in the photo because it's so thick. The band is nice enough, but for me (a small woman) it dangles a bit in the tightest position, so I would have to make an extra hole for the watch to sit steady, which is especially important as it's large and heavy. But the biggest hurdle for me is that there's no control over what notifications arrive on the watch other than those that arrive on the phone. Just in case someone doesn't want every banner that pops up on the phone to make the clock buzz. These are two different input streams. I don't want to set up notifications on my phone in such a way that I can limit the notifications on my watch to only the most important (and really helpful ones). Why do I need CNN? or New York time notifications on my watch when I can't open those apps, but I don't want to turn them off on my phone where I can). Appearance Touchscreen interface (although I can't say it's great. See cons below) Music playback via the watch, which is pretty nifty if you want it (although I couldn't figure out how to play music on the phone and it's easy controls I haven't experimented with it for a long time). More buttons would be helpful, especially for accessing alarm clock/timer and SIRI. There's no point in using SIRI if I have to scroll through first. The application possibilities in the watch are not convincing. I won't be using many of these, and there doesn't seem to be a way to add more. The Bitwatch app is far from intuitive and has little control. Basically, it's pedometer and sleep parameters, which are not fundamental for me. I can't get the messaging app to do anything. he says it doesn't work. There is an alarm and stopwatch option but no timer function which I use very often. More options will be available in future updates, I'd definitely try, but my main goal is to get notifications and messages from my husband and kids, as well as access alarms and a timer while keeping my phone in my pocket . It seems to be more fitness-oriented (although, as mentioned above, it doesn't work with other apps). It definitely doesn't offer what I'm looking for and doesn't offer enough user options to be useful. If it kept turning off I'd just turn it off, and it's a lot more intrusive than a phone, so it would be understandable that the user might want to filter notification options.
