I bought this to wash quilts. It was originally made as a horse soap. However, due to the very mild nature of this soap, it has become very popular with quilt and textile makers. A small amount goes a long way, so this large container will last you a long time. This soap does not contain the usual household soaps "bleach" and "clarifier". that are so aggressive towards fabrics made from natural fibers. The label tells you how to use the quilting soap and how to use it on a horse if you buy it for that purpose. The instructions were easy to follow and when I first used it I was convinced I wouldn't use anything else. The duvet (newly made, not vintage) was washed with no fading and color bleeding (I also use dyes just in case) and there was no strong perfume or residue left in the duvet afterwards. The container was shipped with several other items I had ordered. Well packaged, arrived all the way, in a plastic bag which was a good precaution.
