I can't comment on the effectiveness of the unit's "switching" capabilities as I couldn't hold the wiring in place long enough to see it to test. to a one star rating. The plan was to switch my amp's output between two pairs of speakers, patio and room. Easy enough. Each pair of speakers had 14 gauge stranded copper wire. The connectors on the back of the unit are of the "clip" type that I've never seen before; Insert the wire and then press the plastic tab to fix the wire; they never worked. Place one wire, move on to the next and the plastic tab of the first will open. This happened on all connections, including the amplifier inputs. After playing around with it for over an hour (should be a 10 minute install) I gave up. Your experience may be better, but for myself I'm looking for a switch that uses a more standard speaker connection method.
