I used a plastic sealed canister to store Starbucks ground coffee. I noticed that after a few days in the container, the coffee started to taste bitter. I bought the Veken canister based on the good reviews. I was not disappointed. My coffee no longer tastes bitter. It tastes just as wonderful and fresh as it did when I first put it in the storage jar. I suspect that the CO2 ventilation system is responsible for this positive improvement. I drink so much coffee that the date display on the lid probably doesn't get much use. The lid fits and closes very well. I'm not sure why or when to change the CO2 filter as there are no instructions in the manual but I plan on doing it annually. My only concern is the durability of the locking mechanism. The hinges don't feel very heavy. Hope they last long.
