When I first received them I was very surprised to see that they barely covered my wrist and forearm. I like the ones that are up to the elbows, these can be mid-length. There is no real heat protection. They feel a little thicker than other gloves, but they don't flake and I can feel the warmth of the water as soon as I put my hands in them. They are well suited for the various tasks I use them for. and I think they will last a little longer than others. I just don't like the length or lack of flocking.
