EDIT: Be sure to use a USB 2.0 port when connecting this adapter to a PC. After some testing and reading some reviews online, I found that using a USB 3.0 port would cause interference and lead to latency and connectivity issues. With USB 2.0 I support my next review. I've bought other Bluetooth USB adapters in the past but they never worked properly for one reason or another (latency, connectivity issues, etc.). I decided to take the plunge because 8bitdo seems like a pretty reputable brand and I was planning on using their retro controller DIY kits to connect to my PC and I wanted to make sure I had the have maximum compatibility. Quick test, everything works fine. I've only tested the DS4 and Switch Pro controllers on my PC, but they connected just fine and worked great (no lag, no connection issues, etc.) in the games I tested them in. Latency issues, try testing the adapter on the switch as it should work with this console as well. If everything works there, something is wrong with your PC. I've seen people recommend switching to high performance mode under Power Options in the Control Panel. Even if that fails, 8bitdo offers a generous return/replacement policy so you honestly can't go wrong with this purchase.
