As you can see in the photo of the headboard part, this frame is very simple. We would have liked a white frame. However, after the bedspreads and colorful pillows were placed here, there was not much to see of the headboard. It just had something to protect the wall and put pillows on. At first we thought we might need some sort of box spring or extra padding, but this frame is really very solid and seems to suffice on its own with a good quality 10-inch foam mattress. The frame came together very quickly, no problems. Once assembled it feels solid, but it's easy to move if you still need to move it a few inches to tuck in your mattress topper or sheets. Star removed for purely aesthetic reasons.
