Review on ๐Ÿ‘ถ Bogs Baby Waterproof Insulated Toddler Boys' Shoes for Boots: Reliable Protection and Comfort by Timothy Barnes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Mom from Seattle approved.

There have been a lot of mixed reviews about waterproofing so I thought I'd add my two cents. We ordered these boots for our 16 month old son. We live in Seattle and the kid needs comfortable waterproof boots. Add to that the fact that baby has thick calves, so many high-knee boots just won't put her on without a lot of work and discomfort. I LOVE LOVE these boots and more importantly my kid does too. He squeaked and pointed at them the entire first day we used them, probably because we finally found a comfortable pair. He can walk, climb and "run" without any problems. As far as "waterproof" goes, it's like a neoprene material. They resist water for a LONG TIME but can get wet. To be clear I let him run for two hours in wet weather with mud and puddles and he came back with dry feet. I let him roam the Puget Sound - dry feet. The two scenarios that got them soaked were 1) when we got into torrential rain nonstop for 15 minutes and ended up WET, and 2) when he roamed Puget Sound and climbed far enough for the water to enter through the draft . Holes on the calves of the boot. For small children, the water does not have to be that deep to reach this height. I suspect that a large part of the difference in whether a boot "just puddles" is due to these holes. Just making sure I have spare socks if i think this will be a problem. I let him roam the Puget Sound - dry feet. Two scenarios that got them soaked were 1) when we got into heavy rain non-stop for 15 minutes and ended up WET, and 2) when it brushed through Puget Sound and got far enough for water to get in through the draft. Holes on the calves of the boot. For small children, the water does not have to be that deep to reach this height. I suspect that much of the difference between a boot making "just puddles" wet is due to these holes. Just making sure I have spare socks if I think this will be a problem. The water doesn't really have to be that deep to reach that height. I suspect a big difference is if the boot gets "just a puddle" wet associated with these holes.
