My 3 year old son goes to a Montessori school where his teacher requires every student to wear shoes that he/she can put on and take off. They recommended Crocs especially in the winter, as they wear boots and winter clothing when playing outside and need an extra pair of shoes for activities. This is our second pair of Crocs this year as my son has grown dramatically mid term. I suggested he choose another pair of shoes as he was learning to put on and take off shoes with Velcro, but he insisted that he should have another pair of crocodiles, exactly the same as his first pair except for the color. They arrived in plastic on a Crocs shoe rack and he immediately went for a test run. It's incredibly easy for him to put them on and take them off back up or down. This gives him a sense of independence and accomplishment every time he puts his shoes on. For that reason alone, I would recommend them to anyone with young children.
