The magnet is strong enough and I feel it is held securely in place. With other chargers, I often knock it over when I'm reaching for my book, or it falls off when a cat on the bedside table walks past it. To remove it from the magnet, you either have to hold the base while pulling the phone back, or, like me, just slide your finger between the back of the phone and the kickstand while removing it. I'm only explaining this because another reviewer noted that the magnet is a negative aspect as you can lift the base along with the phone.
