Nice sound machine, small and portable with good sound quality.

I think it blocks out other random noises and helps me relax. However, there are some downsides to using a fan. That means you get air movement that can be far from ideal in winter. They also use more power to move fan blades and such compared to a sonic machine. They also wear out over time if you leave them on overnight like I did. This sound machine is a great replacement for a small fan. Its volume is quite loud, and it's actually nice that it has a volume control, which is another advantage over a real fan (where your volume controls are usually on the low side). It's small, so it doesn't take up as much space as a fan. Its size and the fact that it is battery powered make it portable. This is a nice feature because when I travel there is often no fan in the room and of course it would be quite a hassle to carry around a real fan. In cases like a hotel, turning the fan/AC/heating on and off I could see that it helps fill the silence in between and help me sleep better. For me it is worth the small volume of luggage that would be needed for transport. I would have liked a slightly larger battery. I ran all night and most of the second night so it lasted maybe 13-14 hours on a full charge. This worked at medium volume with no lights on. It would be even more convenient if I could take a weekend trip out of it with a full charge. However, given the small size, this is not surprising. Charging is easy enough even though it uses USB-C, just like my phone. Since I charge my phone overnight I'll probably just take the charger out of my phone in the morning and plug it into the sound machine and vice versa when I go to bed, no big deal. The battery lasts all night, and that's enough to get the job done. It has many different sounds. It even has different types of fan noise. The fan noise actually sounds like a fan too, you can hear the sound of the air moving and the gentle hum of the blades, and everything is very lifelike. I can also try some other noises like white noise and the like. As I flipped through the different sounds just to hear them, they all have good clarity and quality for the size of the device. I love the fact that you can optionally set a sleep timer or, like me, just leave it running all night. . I would actually wake up when the fan noise stopped after a few hours and couldn't go back to sleep until I turned it back on! The lighting is an interesting feature, although I personally prefer a dark room, so I don't use it. Overall, this is a good sound machine with very good sound quality and sufficient volume. I give 4 stars. It works well and I think it's a reasonable value (29.99 at the time of writing this review) but it's not shockingly good or shocking in any way (my standard for a 5 star review). It works well though, and I'd recommend it to anyone who's asking me about sound machines for some extremely odd reason.
