I'm a professional photographer and checked this with a light meter and dB meter. This device registered 7.8 on the EV scale, which is a good amount of light. I also use them for videos, so fan noise is important. An average of 40 dB was measured here with a dB meter. It's fairly quiet and is only heard when an interview mic is nearby. It has an adjustable white balance, which is very useful for matching different existing light sources. For example, you can supplement daylight with a setting of 5400K, or supplement warm room light with a setting of 3400K or anywhere in between. Smartphone control provides a wireless way to adjust the light out of range, which is very common. You can also control multiple lights of the same model. The regular Bowens mount also makes it compatible with a variety of lighting modifiers from GVM or even others you already own. I have a 7 inch softbox that I really like and it's great to be able to use this light with it. Bright enough for interviews (video) or portrait photos at larger apertures or medium ISOs. Build quality seems good although I haven't tested it. I think GVM makes good products at a reasonable price. I also ordered their 80W model, which I reviewed separately.
