Review on πŸŽ’ Large Black OGIO Gambit Backpack by Adriana Sweet

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Damn good bag!

After 8 years of use at home and abroad it is now time to part with my Tumi backpack. I literally spent a couple of weeks researching laptop backpacks ranging from $30 to $200 and finally settled on the Ogio Gambit. Not only does this backpack look cool, but the quality is better than I expected. It offers plenty of storage space and many pockets. FYI, this is not a small backpack. However, he is not as tall as his older brother Ogio Renegade. I work in information technology and therefore have two laptops, various cables, power supplies, external hard drives, mouse, notepad, pens, stickers, etc. with me. Thanks to the many pockets, everything is neatly stowed away. The laptop compartment has a pocket marked "small" that will fit an 8" tablet (Surface Pro 3 in my case) and the main compartment should fit a slim 17" laptop, I have a 15- inch HP. The EliteBook 840 G3 offers plenty of space. So I keep my HP AND Surface Pro3 in the laptop compartment. Underneath the laptop compartment is a small pocket that Ogio says is meant for a digital camera or mouse. This compartment has 2 additional small pockets. Yes, this backpack has many pockets! The "main" compartment is large, also in keeping with the theme of not having many pockets, and has two pockets that match the width of the backpack. Sportswear and a pair of shoes fit easily in this compartment. Under the "main compartment" there is another zippered compartment c. You guessed it, MORE bags! One of them is marked "Tablet", and the opposite pocket is a zippered pocket. I actually use this compartment to store various cables and portable hard drives that I carry with me. Finally, there's the foremost and smallest (don't let the word "smallest" fool you) compartment. This section is a pocket paradise! There are 5 dedicated pen holders, 2 open pockets and 1 zip pocket. There are 5 more pockets on the top and sides of the backpack! The top pocket is called the "Tech Vault" and is rigid and zippered, ideal for sunglasses or whatever else you don't want to smash. The 2 upper side pockets are also zipped and a good size, I carry my mouse in one of them. The two lower side pockets are also zipped, with Ogio claiming these are "reversible water bottle and accessory holders". The bottom pocket on the left side (viewed from the front of the pack) has an adjustable elastic cord to attach a water bottle. The lower right pocket does not, but has an elastic band. However, it is NOT regulated. The shoulder straps are soft but not overly so. Actually, I would have liked a little more padding, I was spoiled by my Tumi backpack. lol Also there is a luggage pass which is nice. Oh I almost forgot, the chest strap is adjustable, another nice touch. All in all this is an amazing backpack for the price and I recommend it to my colleagues who are somewhat overly compulsive street fighters. :)
