I purchased this case because Lippert recently recalled their Smart Jack due to moisture getting under the touchpad and causing the jack to malfunction. Although I never covered my original Smart Jack and it never had an issue, it was replaced due to a safety recall. I really wanted to protect my new Smart Jack from the elements and moisture, so I bought this case. Unfortunately, I have found that this lid does more harm than good to the Lippert Smart Jack. This lid actually ruined my new Smart Jack and caused the very problem I was trying to avoid. The first time the case was used in the rain, I went out to see how it held up and found that moisture had built up inside the case and was remaining on my jack's touchpad. Of course, this was an issue due to issues with the Smart Jack touchpad, which prompted a security recall. I removed the cover and allowed it to air out completely before putting it back on the socket. Every time it rained I would take the lid off to let air out (which became quite a hassle) but one day while I was out it suddenly started raining and I wasn't able to reach my trailer until the following week . At this point my good new jack was ruined. Condensation has accumulated under the cover and moisture has formed under the touch panel of the socket. To make matters worse, I found that the zipper was broken. Luckily Lippert sent me a new Smart Jack but this time I won't be using a suitcase with it. This is a very nice case but a very poor design for the Smart Jack which is already prone to moisture issues.
