Our neighbors have 1080 cameras and the quality doesn't suit them. They couldn't even read the license plate of a car parked 30 feet from the camera. Based on their suggestions, I searched and did a lot of research for PoE 4K cameras. I chose them because the kit had everything I wanted except for the color night vision which was at the bottom of my list. The day quality is excellent. I can easily read a license plate at 50 feet or so. PoE is durable and reliable. No battery changes and other nonsense. It really was plug and play. IR vision at night is clear, but rain blurs the image beyond recognition. And because of the IR illumination, you can't read reflective license plates. They're just bright white glow. The built-in software isn't the most user-friendly, but you can find out for yourself before digging through the manual. The mobile app is pretty good and allows you to manage many settings and live and recorded playback, but you may still need direct access to the NVR for some features. It's difficult to find events that weren't sent as alerts because you need to know within a minute or two the date/timestamp you're looking for. Playback on the mobile app allows for slower speeds, but a higher 2x or even 4x speed makes finding an event easier. Also, it would be nice if it could tell you where the motion was detected that disabled it. I think mostly it's flying insects, but it would be nice to know what exactly the system detected. In summary this is a great system and we are very happy with the level of monitoring we now have in house. Running wires is tedious at first, but once you're done, you're done. No more running around changing batteries configuring your wireless settings to make it work. This system works around the clock.
