I really like these cotton balls. The organic bamboo side feels like terry cloth and washes off makeup well, even with just water! The velvety side is very soft and is great for applying toner. I've had no problem with them picking up too much toner. I'd say they're about as absorbent as a disposable q-tip. The size is nice too. They're big enough that I can put micellar water on one half and toner on the other half. A laundry bag and headbands are also a great bonus. One headband is made of bamboo terry cloth and the other is made of velvet. I especially like that they have velcro closures. My only real criticism is that not all of the makeup came out of the cotton circles on the first wash. However, I didn't do any rinsing or pre-treatment, so this may partly be my fault. Finally, if I continue to use them for makeup removal, I don't care if they're smeared with makeup, so I didn't remove the stars. Generally excellent quality. to an excellent environmentally friendly product. I definitely recommend them!
