Have slept on my side all my life. I've had hip pain lately. Tried different mattresses, hip still hurts. Decided to sleep on my back. Woke up with severe back pain. Tried different pillows, still lower back hurts. Did a little research. I chose this pillow (good price) and to my surprise it actually works! The pillow is not super soft but medium firm. Softens a little, but not much. Provides good neck support. No more back pain! Don't bother using your own pillowcase, it will just slide off. It comes with its own pillowcase. This pillow has mixed reviews but it absolutely works for me. The new sleeping position takes a little getting used to, but at least I don't wake up in pain and double over stiffly!
