Owned the first pair for about 3 years and regularly changed the liner to a decent quality insole. The shoes remained comfortable walking about 1.5 miles to work daily. The exterior has also remained in very good condition. I just swapped out my first pair to restore the inevitable loss of cushioning. I immediately put them on to walk around European cities for 2 weeks (5-6km/day). Extremely comfortable and durable. Oh, and I have early arthritis in the thenar pads, so cushioning is key.
