Review on πŸ”ͺ Cuisinart DLC-1 DLC-196ATX Reversible Blade Assembly with Sheath: Ultimate Convenience for Versatile Food Processing by Hassan Barrera

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Just what I need, just right.

Let me start by saying that my Cuisinart Mini Prep is old school and probably should have been thrown away years ago. I've had it since the early 90's. But I love it and use it all the time. In general, this is my garlic and ginger (plus other herbs) through a meat grinder. I've had to replace a few plastic bowls over the years and had an extra blade, but over time my last blade broke. I was very excited to find that this replacement part was *exactly what I needed*. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that when I put the blade part onto the rotating pin, the locking fit isn't *exactly* the same as the original. Even if I make sure it's very tight (wearing a protective glove so I don't cut my hand on the blade) I can't fill the bowl like I used to. That means if there's too much garlic or ginger in the bowl (those are hard objects), they separate the stick from the blade *enough* to get the stick spinning but not the blade. It's almost as if the fitting doesn't sit as low as the original part, if that makes sense. Again, I'm very happy to have this and be able to use my mini-prep for longer, but now I'm realizing I can't grind as many hard things at once as I used to. .

Pros

Cons
  • Nothing here
