Making an Ethernet cable is easy. I have testers and all the necessary tools for this, but the cable reel I received was terrible. There were so many kinks on the spool when I unraveled it that I couldn't get a 10 foot length that wasn't affected. Do yourself a big favor and buy ready-made products of the right length. Always buy a grade higher than you need. This will help in the long run. CAT7 with gold connectors is currently the best thing to buy even if you don't need to operate at the speeds CAT7 is capable of. When your speed increases, you'll be ready, no need to replace old cables.
