Review on Sony DCR-DVD108 DVD Handycam Camcorder - Discontinued by Manufacturer, 40x Optical Zoom by Danny Lavimodiere

I'm a "teapot" in electronics and this video camera suits me perfectly. I wanted a DVD camcorder that I could record my four year old on and then play it straight to my DVD player and I loved it. I don't edit or do anything special with it. Completion was easy with a touch screen and the image quality was very good. I didn't realize it didn't have a built in light so the lighting has to be right or it will be blurry as the lens is constantly trying to focus. . But with the right lighting it's great as I've been training with my son at the gym and he's been keeping up with him. The audio can be a bit louder as it seems to pick up nearby sounds, but not so well for distant sounds. I took him to the R Us toy store in Times Square to pick up a T-Rex for my son to look at at home and I could hear my son and I talk better than the T-Rex roaring and I was close enough. It was very loud, hundreds of voices could be heard, so maybe that's not a fair test. Otherwise, I am very satisfied.
