This radio didn't work for me. I live in an area between Baltimore and Philadelphia where dozens of radio stations are available on both the AM and FM bands. This radio tunes to only one station on the AM band and 10-12 stations on the FM band. Even some of them had static electricity. My main focus was the local AM station, which he didn't pick up. Taking it outside the reception improves a bit, but not enough to make it useful. For that reason I'm sending it back and appreciate Revain's good return service. Other comments about the device: First, as others have mentioned, the sound is very good for a device of this size. Second, I found the setup a bit whimsical. You either need to know the frequency of the station you want, or scroll through a series of presets. This might be good for the tech-savvy person but can be frustrating for others. Those who want to install it and leave it at the same station forever could probably get by with it. Third, the device determines its own preferences, presumably based on signal strength. For the FM band, the unit installed 23 presets, only about half of which were free enough of noise to be heard. 14 presets were set for the AM band, of which only one station had maximum reception. The user has no control over preset selection and this creates frustration when attempting to tune into a station. Finally, it plays MP3 files, but the user has limited control over what is played. In fact, the device starts playing song number 1 and proceeds sequentially with whatever is on the memory card. The user can skip to the next song or song #xx, but there is no way to order them like you can with an MP3 player. If you want to play your favorite song, you need to know its serial number on the memory card. I didn't take the time to figure it out, but the way the sequence was organized wasn't obvious to me. This device could work very well for those who just want background music from MP3 files on a memory card.
