Gels will always be lighter, so I used all four.
I was designing lighting for a small theater so I used quite a few different lighting gels. We had a 13" solar tube installed in our office which certainly made it brighter, but it was too harsh as fluorescent light so I used all four parts of the orange filter to warm it up a bit and it worked.
- Orange color temperature gels: CTO gel sheet to warm up balanced daylight sources such as flashes, LEDs, strobes. Each CTO gel mimics a different strength of "warm sunset quality" in every light.
