Review on Lexar Professional USB 3.0 Dual-Slot Reader - LRW400CRBNA: High-Speed Data Transfer and Multi-Card Compatibility by Daniel Jackson

When using microSDXC, USE the microSD to SD adapter and SD card slot!

I am using Lexar 25-in-1 / Transcend RDF9, RDF9K2. I found this Lexar 25-in-1 to be very reliable and fast (nearly identical to the RDF9). But one problem I ran into was when I put a microSDXC (SANDISK Extreme Pro 256GB) into the microSD card slot, the write speed was very disappointing (around 20MB/s). When I used the microSD to SD adapter and inserted it into the SD memory card slot, I noticed that the write speed increased to 4560MB/s. I thought the microSD card slot would work better than using the SD card slot with an adapter, but what I found was the opposite. This is a high quality and reliable card reader, and IF USING a microSD CARD, PLEASE INSERT IT INTO THE MICROSD SD CARD ADAPTER AND INTO THE SD CARD SLOT. It brings you more speed! Thanks very much! The left image shows the write speed of the Lexar 25-in-1 card reader and the right image shows the write speed of the Transcend RDF9K. (Tested with a SANDISK Extreme Pro 256GB microSDXC) Update August 22, 2021: My Transcend TS-RDF9K card reader died a few days ago. Although I didn't use it much, it broke after 23 years of only occasional use. What I did with the TS-RDF9K was update the SD card for my car navigation. I recently took a short trip to the beach with my old digital camera and captured hundreds of pictures onto a 64GB SANDISK Extreme Pro SD card. When I tried to transfer the images to my computer, I found that there was something wrong with the TS-RDF9K card reader and I was able to verify this after switching to a Lexar 25-in-1 USB card reader. Sectors with prolonged read times, marked as bad sectors by the TS-RDF9K reader, are completely gone with the Lexar 25 in 1 card reader. While I can't say how long the Lexar 25 in 1 card reader will work properly, I can definitely say that the 2 Transcend USB TS-RDF9K card readers I've used so far only failed after 23 years of sporadic use. Hope my experience helps!
