I have a 6.5 lb adult cat that I adopted when he was 10 years old but she was never spayed. after her neutering she was crazy about the cone so i bought it because it came the quickest. She wasn't sure at first, but quickly got used to it and spent two weeks in it after sterilization. Easy to put on, easy to fasten. I was shocked to see that she could even use the tray with it, so I didn't have to worry about that. The only thing we had a little trouble with was the part that was supposed to go around her neck was around her shoulders but that never caused any problems and it never went out and if I ordered a size up it would be too much of. great. I think I just have a long cat lol. Highly recommend for cats who hate cones
