I bought this because I was planning to replace my broken 2.5" Patriot blast SSD with a Samsung 970 EVO M.2 - drive to replace. If I know what my board has, it doesn't have an M.2 slot. The SilverStone Technology M.2 PCIE to SATA or PCIE NVMe SSD Adapter with Advanced Thermal Solution (ECM22) has proven to be a great option to allow new M.2 drives to PCIe AND has an extra slot for using the latest generation of M.2 drives as a SATA drive. The only issues I had weren't with this card, but with setting up the drive via my BIOS and booting it up properly. immediately recognized that the hard drive is connected to this card. I just had to get creative to install Windows 10 and boot from my connected Samsung 970 EVO. Connected 970 EVO One Window After installing s 10 I was able to reconnect my other drives and set up an EVO 970 with a PCIe slot as my boot drive and my system booted up quickly with no hiccups.
