Review on πŸŽ₯ Enhance Your iPod Video Experience with XtremeMac IPV-MIC-20 MicroMemo Digital Voice Recorder in White by Michael Rosario

almost useless for digital voice recorders

I bought this XtemeMac microphone and an 80MB iPod Classic for lecture recording (only $330). It is totally unsuitable for lecture recording because: 1) The battery life on a full charge is less than 2 hours. And it cannot be charged while recording. So I had to bring my laptop to class to charge my iPod between classes. 2) The recording quality is bad. There are no noise adjustment or tone filter features available in all specialized voice recorders. This is a necessary feature to get clear recordings in large lecture halls.3) With an iPod Classic, it's big. It was difficult to fit a laptop and an iPod in the small lecture chairs. Nano would of course solve this problem, but they have a limited amount of memory. 4) This is a goal. I would never leave an iPod where I was if I had to leave class. I ended up buying a $60 voice recorder that was smaller and lighter than the xtrememmac product (and cheaper than the iPod). It records higher quality audio, has longer storage time, longer battery life, and transfers digital recording files to iTunes seamlessly.
