Served only 2 years!

I bought this in June 2017 but it only lasted 2 years and only used it maybe 12 times! When I needed it this month, it wouldn't turn on. When the device is turned on, the blue LED will flash once and then turn off. The drive will never power on to access the operating system. I've tried different power outlets, different drives, and even a different power supply with the same specs (12V, 3000mAh), but the results were the same. Very frustrating as I had to restore from a backup for a crashed Win 10 laptop. However, it was working fine before it died and was very easy to use. I usually set up my spare disks with a small boot partition for Macrium Reflect Recovery WinPE and a large data partition for Reflect compressed image backups. It was compatible with every desktop, laptop, HDD, and SSD I've connected. The speed has always been faster than other USB backup devices I've had. When plugged into a USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 2 port on a laptop running a full Macrium Reflect backup with compressed disk images, it performed very well with an average overall write speed of 960Mbps. That's very good considering the attached drive was a 2.5-inch, 5400 rpm SATA III hard drive. The speed limiting factor will always be the type of SATA drive connected and the type of USB 3.1 port on the PC - Gen 1 or 2. I think I'll have to buy another one, but I'm disappointed as the first one did 2 years hardly used.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Long delivery time
