The Good and Bad: Sleep Sound Machines

UPDATE: I took off another star for just trying it with batteries for the first time. Requires 3 AA batteries. With 3 brand new batteries no more than a year old this machine didn't last all night before all the batteries died. I use these batteries all the time with no problems so I don't think the batteries themselves are the problem. I like the crickets and the creek. Thunder and rain sound good when the volume is as low as possible. The outdoor campfire has something like the sound of crickets in the background, it's pretty decent but sounds like it has a weird echo as it doesn't sound like it's actually outside. The sound of pouring rain is ok. The music has a normal sound quality but that doesn't mean anything to me as I can't sleep to the music. Birds are the worst thing that disappoints me. because I really enjoy waking up to this sound. Unfortunately, the loop is very noticeable in birds, so I really can't stand it unless there's background noise on volume 1. The sound of a dripping faucet sounds pretty clear, but personally I wouldn't want to hear that. I will not feel comfortable letting my child hear it for fear of damaging the ear. The sound of the white noise fan is also not very good.

  • Useful for more than it's intended purpose
