I have 2 of this model and 2 of the older version (Thermaltake BlacX Duet 5G ST0022U). 3 are connected to my iMac at the same time. The other is on a Windows 10 NUC. The older version had some difficulties when using different size and/or brand hard drives on the same dock. So far I haven't had this problem with this new version. I have 1TB to 14TB WD Red hard drives from WD and Seagate. One complaint is that removing a hard drive is usually done with two hands. When you press the slide button on the side to eject the hard drive, they're supposed to "snap" in the up position temporarily, but for me they often fall back into the dock. I found that I had to hold the button down and use my other hand to take out the hard drive. They were also reliable (knock on wood!) and I'm very happy with them. My iMac is old so only USB2. Windows box - USB3. Works fine with both, but of course MUCH faster if you can use USB3. As far as data corruption goes, that hasn't happened to me. I always eject both drives in the dock (safely eject) and then turn off the dock before ejecting the drives. I never try to remove either drive when the dock is powered on. Maybe this procedure helped avoid the spoilage issue, or maybe I just got lucky. Overall very happy with the docks!
