These speakers compare to systems over $200. There's a reason they're so cheap. I bought them to put in every corner of my basement. So far they work. When I boot up the system, the first two songs sound like absolute crap. Does the system seem to be heating up? After that it sounds very nice. The cable that comes with the kit is tiny. There's also a volume control on the speakers, which helps a bit with distorted sound, but not much. Overall, once the speakers have warmed up, the sound quality is what I would expect from a cheap system. It's not great, but it's pretty good. The sub has a lot of base. I can't be mad at this purchase if it saves me hundreds of dollars. If we assume that it will work for many years, then this is a good budget system.
