Wow! Not to brag or anything, but my clothes stank a lot. I don't know if some of the clothes were slightly damp when I folded them and put them in the closet, but I had a pretty strong musty smell that spread throughout the closet full of clothes. Tried cold, hot, vinegar and baking soda wash, air dry, warm dry. No matter what I did, the stench stayed. It was like he had infected other clothes in the same batch, so most of my stuff just stank. Maybe a bit of boasting. Finally, I googled further and saw that someone had recommended it. I put the hat on with the clothes on and washed half of the hat with the usual detergent and as usual. I'm happy to report that I was able to wash probably a dozen loads of laundry this way, and it not ONLY got rid of the stench, I still had more detergent left. For the price and performance of what you get. I am 100% thrilled with the results.
