I usually buy small batteries for a romantic night and then throw them away. But my boyfriend and I love them so much we use them several times a week. They have a realistic, candle-like, flickering amber light. They create a very soothing atmosphere, especially when combined with aromatherapy using essential oils. I like them so much that when they finally died I wanted to replace the batteries. The only downside is that they aren't remote controlled, so you have to get up and turn off every single switch before going to bed.
