The Tiny Traveler car stereo was AMAZING. I used to have a strap on the rear seat mirror that kept shifting when going over bumps. The mirror is also a driving hazard as it took me a while to focus on what was going on by looking in the rear view mirror and then seeing my reflection in the mirror. Having a car surveillance system changed everything. INSTALLATION The installation process can probably be completed in as little as 5-10 minutes depending on how neat and clean you want the installation to look. The system is pretty much plug and play, out of the box, which is refreshing. You don't need to connect the camera or switch between menus to make it work. It really is up and running as soon as you plug it in. I spent extra time doing a more thorough install, so it took about 30-40 minutes. I chose to mount the monitor to the left of the steering wheel where it would be less intrusive and hiding the power cord would be a lot easier than mounting the monitor somewhere in the middle of the dash or windshield. I was able to route the power cable down the left side by poking it into the seams and/or behind the dash case with the back of a plastic knife. I then routed it under the steering column, using small self-adhesive clips to hold the wires in place and ensure they don't fall off and get in your way while you drive. No special tools or removing the panels were required! CAMERA The camera has amazing resolution day and night. I really appreciate the attachment straps (if you attach to the headrest) with a rubber/silicone texture on the inside. This keeps the straps in place and prevents the camera from shifting or shaking while driving. This small detail is really a big game changer when it comes to camera view reliability and performance. My only minor gripe with the camera has to do with the power cable, which is a mini USB connector with a 90 degree angle. When it pans to the right, the cable naturally pulls the camera to the right, making it slightly curved. This was an easy fix as I tucked the cable the other way under the straps and that keeps it in place and straight. . You don't have to "search" or squint at the small screen to understand the scenario that presents dangerous distractions while driving. The thought was embodied in the user interface which made it very intuitive and "finger friendly". The icons on the screen speak for themselves, so you can use the device without reading the instructions and know exactly what each icon does. I also like that they are large and spaced apart, leaving little room for error due to finger touch. As parents, we buy (and receive) tons of baby gadgets. Few really matter, and this is one of those points.
