Bought a set of red and gray cords in June. I don't know why at all, but in less than 4 months 3 cables suddenly stopped working. To date, only 1 red wire is functional. The cables (and recently purchased Apple chargers) were purchased around the same time period or month, but in two separate orders. Each cable and charger was then placed in specific locations around the home for convenience, so that the cable/charger did not have to be unplugged and used elsewhere where necessary. Since they stopped working, I tested the cables and chargers in different combinations and in a different location. I have found that these are the cables that are no longer working. Each cable still looks great as I assume will see little use but I bought them to charge my phone not for their looks.
