This is a thick, soft and warm comforter. My daughter loves using it in her bed (even though she sleeps on it most nights and not under it. Haha!). The reason I only give this blanket 3 stars is that the underside (solid color) of this blanket stopped being a soft smooth material after the first wash and became a bit dull and flaked off. It's still usable and warm, but not the same texture as it was before the wash. Also, after the second wash, the corners started to shrink, so when I fold it, it's not exactly flat. Again, not critical, but still a downside in my opinion. If you want a blanket that looks the same before and after washing I would look elsewhere. However, this blanket is still warm and suitable for our purposes. The colors remain bright even after several washes.
