The sound quality of these headphones is excellent. Especially when you turn on the active noise cancellation, you get a kind of 3D music effect. As far as noise cancellation goes, it does what it's supposed to do and does it effectively. Specifications indicate percentage reduction in noise, not total elimination. I would say that when it comes to reducing jet engine noise in an airplane cabin, turning on active noise cancellation reduces the noise by about 75%. I think that the maximum volume on them should be higher. I would like more volume from it. Speaking of volume, they don't have a volume control. You need to adjust the volume on your phone. You can pause, play, skip, and enable/disable active noise cancellation with the button on the headphones, but not adjust the volume. They should turn on automatically when you take them out of the box. The left handset does this flawlessly. The right earbud turns on about half the time, as expected. You can still turn it on with a 2-second press of the button on the earcup. But it's quirky with the auto-on feature. These headphones come with 3 different sizes of ear tips. In general, I'm happy with them, but I would like more volume.
